Rashi Bijlani Tandon is the Founder and President of Asha Hai, which is an inclusive Pre-School for children with extra needs. She is an accomplished Bharatnatyam dancer and her experience in the field of movement fosters her belief that dance and movement enhances the smooth interaction of the mind and body. Her novel and unique vision of the society enables her to view children through a new lens. She has started “The Dancing Bond" for children up to the age of 4 years and their parents as she believes that attaching and connecting to little ones early on helps them become empowered teenagers and adults. In a quest to diversify her work, she also conducts parenting and childcare workshops for parents and caregivers. Rashi holds a double Master’s degree in Dance Movement Psychotherapy and Clinical Psychology. She acquired a scholarship in LMA (Laban Movement Analysis) at Shanghai by the INSPIREES and Laban/Bartenieff Institute of movement studies. She is the head consultant psychologist at the Sitaram Bhartia Institute of Science and Research at their Child Development Clinic. She is currently closely associated with Shri Edu-Care limited and works as a consultant psychologist with The Shri-Ram Early years. She is also the co-founder and General Secretary of The Indian Association of Dance Movement therapy and in charge of the membership committee (2020-2023). She was also a TedX Speaker in 2021.

Gunjan Bijlani holds a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology with Distinction and Diploma in Early Childhood and Special Education. She is a counselling Psychologist and a licensed Special Educator (RCI). She has proficiency in helping people work on their family and marital relationships. She is a founder Director of Asha Hai Intervention Center since 2010 and has been working with children with special needs like Autism, Down-Syndrome, Learning Disabilities, ADHD, MR and Cerebral Palsy. She is also associated with Sitaram Bhartia Institute of Research and Sciences as a Child & Adolescent, Family and Couple Counsellor.
Dance Movement Therapy Facilitator
Pallavi Singh works as a Dance Movement Therapist at Asha Hai & at Centre for Dance Movement Psychotherapy. She has certification in Dance Movement Therapy from Sitaram Bhartia Institute of Science and Research. She has Masters in Counselling Psychology as well as Certificate in Global Career Counselling from University of California, Los Angeles. She has had training in dance from the renowned Big Dance Centre and Banjara School Of Dance. Her aim is to help individuals through the therapeutic use of dance and movement, as dance not only helps in improving cardiovascular health, but mental and emotional health as well.
She has a diploma in Remedial Education from Don Bosco, Prafulta (Mumbai). She has worked at Trijog, know your mind, an organization for mental health in Mumbai as a special educator. She has done her ECCed training too and has worked with the preprimary schooling children initially. She loves working with children and is very passionate about her work. She works with total commitment and empathy and can remediate children with all kinds of special needs.
Pooja Pathak is a dedicated and experienced Pediatric Occupational therapist. She provides pediatric rehabilitation services, training and education programs for parents of special needs children.She has passion for working with children and has been doing so, for over 11 years. She has experience in the paediatric OT setting working with children who have fine motor and gross motor delays, sensory processing disorder, Autism, ADHD, Learning disability, Cerebral palsy, Down’s syndrome, erb’s palsy, premature babies, mental retardation, visual motor and perceptual difficulties, and developmental delays. She received her bachelor degree in Occupational therapy from National institutes for locomotor disability NILD West Bengal University of Heath sciences and her master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from SVNIRTAR Utkal University where she also completed research and training in Special need children. She has obtained continuing education training in occupational therapy in NICU, Sensory integration, Neurodevelopmental Training. She has completed Paediatric Feeding and Swallowing Education (PFASE ).She believes every child is unique and has unlimited abilities…She advocates Early Intervention, Inclusive education and seeing a child as a whole and not with their diagnosis.
Nishu Sharma is an occupational therapist at Asha Hai. She holds her bachelor degree with an upgradation course from PDDUIPH, Delhi University. She also specialises in Ares Sensory Integration from University of Southern California. She has extensive 20 years of hands on and clinical experience and expertise in fields of paediatric motors, SPD, Autism, ADHD, Cerebral Palsy, Language and other development delays. She follows holistic therapeutic approach to help maximise and optimise participation in valued daily life activities and interventions including Inclusion of Children with disabilities in school and social platforms. She has also been a part of guest faculty lecturer at association for advancement and rehabilitation of handicapped. Sheetal Mehra holds a Nursery Teacher`s Training diploma and an Early Childhood Care Education diploma from IGNOU. She is a seasoned teacher with 16 years of experience behind her. Her area of expertise lies in Early Childhood Care and preschool education. Creative lesson plans and boundless energy is her forte. She excels in planning activities and lessons for the little ones in accordance with their interests. Inspiring learning in children gives her immense joy. Komal Jain is a Counseling Psychologist, a certified Cognitive Behavioral Therapist, and a trained Cognitive Hypnotic Psychotherapist, currently working as the Centre Head of Therapy with Asha Hai. She is also a Visiting Consultant at Sitaram Bhartia Institute for Science and Research. She has been working with individuals from all walks of life as well as age brackets. Most of her work involves helping individuals deal with emotional and behavioral issues and cope with stress, anxiety, and depression. Her practice is eclectic and multicultural sensitive. She is a Mental Health Awareness enthusiast and wants to break stereotypes related to gender roles, body image and work-life balance. She keenly believes that love and compassion have the potential to change an individual’s life and strives to create a safe and empathetic space for all her clients.
Ishani Sengupta is working as a Child Psychologist at Asha Hai. She graduated in Psychology from Delhi University and also holds a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology. She is also a Visiting Consultant at Sitaram Bhartia Institute for Science and Research. Earlier she has worked with special needs children at Healing Nest. She has interened in a variety of mental health setting from clinical setup to counseling setup. In addition, she has done a certification course on Play Therapy. She has been working with children for 4 years. She has done a certification course on ‘Basics of REBT’ from In-Vivo Mumbai. She has been working with children having Autism, ADHD, Down Syndrome, Learning Difficulty. She loves playing with children and spending time with them, she believes that play is the most effective way in which a child can learn.
Shivangi Rai is working as a Child Psychologist at Asha Hai. She has completed her graduation in Psychology from Delhi University and also holds a Master's degree in Counselling Psychology. Her internships at Max Hospital, Saket and Centre for Child and Adolescent Wellbeing (CCAW) and experience at Autism Centre for Excellence (ACE) have made her competent in working with children and delivering special education services. She enjoys playing and interacting with children. She believes in the saying 'The creation of something new is not accomplished by the intellect but by the play instinct.'
Amrit Kalkat is a child psychologist working at Asha Hai. She graduated in Psychology from Jai Hind College in Mumbai. She also holds a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from SNDT University, Mumbai. Amrit interened at Asha hai before being converted to a full time therapist at the centre. She has a keen interest in children and working with children who have extra needs and bonds with them instantly. Working with children is a fulfilling experience for her and she enjoys every minute of watching a child grow and learn. Amrit has also worked with patients of Parkinson's at the Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorder Society (PDMDS), and also has been a part of The Dhara foundation where she counselled juveline delinquents. These experiences have given her the work ethic she has today. She also believes in the saying: "It doesn't matter how slowly a child learns as long as we do not encourage them to stop."
Tanushree holds a master's degree in clinical psychology and is an active preacher of mental health especially for children since a very long time. She worked with children diagnosed with autism for the purpose of her masters dissertation and decided to work in the field solely with children and adolescents as she believed that this is her true calling. She wants to go further in this field and research on the complexities of a childs life in the 21st century. Her approach is more play based so that a child is able to learn and also interact more out of a non academic background. She has previously worked as a life skills trainer for A.H. Wadia School Mumbai for two months as well as Dolphin POD Vasant Kunj for eight months. During her tenure there, she was actively working with children of all age groups as well as providing early childhood care to preschoolers. She comes from a creative field with a firm belief that imagination and creativity are the gateways to finding hope and joy in the world around us. As a part of Asha Hai, her goal is to reach out to all children and find creative ways of helping them and providing them a more holistic and nurturing environment so as to facilitate their growth and also encourage a more positive outlook to parents as social support begins at home and is very important for the child!
